Watch Service: Rolex GMT Master II. Cal 3186.

Watch Service: Rolex GMT Master II. Cal 3186. Its been a while since my last post, trying to balance blog posts with actually servicing the watches gets more and more difficult the busier I get. What a watch this is though, the Rolex GMT Master II with blue and black bezel, aka the Batman.

Watch Service: Rolex Datejust. Cal 3135.

Another Rolex in for a full service – I wont complain, as ive said before, they are relatively straight forward to service and dont cause many problems at all. This one happens to have a mother of pearl diamond dial – Ill need to be very careful with this.

Watch Service: Rolex Oysterdate. Cal 1210.

This vintage Rolex was sent to me for service as its losing time – a pretty obvious signal the watch might need a service. The owner cant remember exactly when this one was last serviced but thinks it could be over 10 years ago, so its definitely due one!

Watch Service: Rolex Air King. Cal 3000.

The Rolex Air King is a simple looking watch and this one is powered by the Rolex calibre 3000, a relatively simple automatic movement. I particularly like the grey dial on this one. Its arrived on my bench as its losing time and is ready for a service.

Watch Service: Rolex Submariner. Cal 3135.

Having previously serviced Iains Ebel Voyager, now came the turn for his Rolex Submariner. It houses the Rolex 3135 Calibre and is a workhorse of a movement – not that you would expect any less from Rolex. Iain has also opted for the case brighten, to give this watch a little hand with its good […]

Watch Service: Rolex Datejust. Cal 3135.

This Rolex Datejust was suffering with a common fault that Rolex’s often develop – a worn rotor post. The watch was losing time, and I could tell straight away from the sound within the watch, the rotor was loose and touching the case back.

Watch Service: Rolex Datejust. Cal 3135.

Rolex Datejust for a full service, this particular one was sent in by Peter as it has a low power reserve, is stopping occasionally and losing time. It also hasn’t been serviced for about 6 years, so its overdue and high time to get this watch back into good working order.

Watch Service: Rolex Air King. Cal 1530.

So the first Rolex service of the blog, and a pretty old one at that. Calibre 1530, most likely from some point in the 60s. Its certainly seen better days, but like all Rolex watches, its a workhorse, and has much more life in it yet!
