Watch Service: Rolex GMT Master II. Cal 3186. Its been a while since my last post, trying to balance blog posts with actually servicing the watches gets more and more difficult the busier I get. What a watch this is though, the Rolex GMT Master II with blue and black bezel, aka the Batman.

Watch Service: Tag Heuer Professional Quartz. Cal ETA 955.112. I pretty much service the majority of watches, including quartz – some watchmakers just won’t won’t work on them. David sent me His Tag Heuer Professional as it wasn’t working with a new battery and its been over 10 years since it was last serviced.

Explained: Whats involved in a watch service and should I have it done?

I often get asked what is it I actually do when I service a watch, what’s involved and is it really necessary? My entire website is full of different watches being serviced and I wanted to make it clearer exactly what steps each watch goes through in the process of its service whilst with me.

Watch Service: Omega Constellation. Cal 564

Another vintage Omega for service, this time the Omega Constellation housing the 564 calibre. I previously featured on the blog a calibre 565, its physically identical to this movement, with the only difference being the 564 here is a chronometer grade movement.

Watch Service: Rolex Datejust. Cal 3135.

Another Rolex in for a full service – I wont complain, as ive said before, they are relatively straight forward to service and dont cause many problems at all. This one happens to have a mother of pearl diamond dial – Ill need to be very careful with this.

This vintage Rolex was sent to me for service as its losing time – a pretty obvious signal the watch might need a service. The owner cant remember exactly when this one was last serviced but thinks it could be over 10 years ago, so its definitely due one!

So this watch proved to be a good example of how not to oil, not by me but whoever the previous watchmaker was. The watch, a Rolex GMT Master ii is a luxury watch by anyones standards and deserves to be serviced correctly by a competent watchmaker.

Watch Service: Omega Divers 300. Cal 1120 (Titanium)

Ive posted an Omega Divers before, but not the titanium version. Phil sent me his for a service and case brighten. The key ways titanium varies from steel is the fact it is a lighter metal – noticeably lighter when held, but also a harder metal, making refinishing it more difficult than steel.

Watch Service: Omega Deville. Cal 565.

The second watch of the duo sent in by Matt, the classic vintage Omega Deville. Its actually very similar to the Omega 613 calibre that I posted a few weeks ago, the difference being that the 565 here, is the automatic version. Both feature a date with quick date setting.
